Sustainable Development

Humak Aims to Be a Sustainable, Responsible and Carbon Neutral University of Applied Sciences by 2030

Humak is involved in the joint program of sustainable development and responsibility of universities of applied sciences. The program is based on the 2015 UN Sustainable Development Goals. It aims to strengthen the handprint of universities of applied sciences but at the same time reduce their carbon footprint.

The Goals Are Also Carbon Neutrality and Responsible Everyday Operations

The goal is for all Humak graduates to be able to promote sustainable development and combat the negative effects of climate change in society. That is what the sustainable development and responsibility program is about. The program serves as a foundation for the development of Humak’s education.

Sustainability and responsibility are also taken into account in Humak’s RDI activities. The aim of our RDI activities is to provide solutions to sustainability challenges and – similarly to efforts to develop education – to promote sustainable development and reduce the adverse effects of climate change.

Seventeen sustainable development goals to change the world: no poverty; zero hunger; good health and well-being; quality education; gender equality; clean water and sanitation; affordable and clean energy; decent work and economic growth; industry, innovation and infrastrucutre; reduced inequalities; sustainable cities and communities; responsible consumption and production; climate action; life below water; life on land; peace, justice and strong institutions; partnerships for the goals.
